$21.93 - $24.51 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Marquette County is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper to join our Building & Grounds Department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining county facilities and grounds, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-maintained for public use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing, heating, electrical, and other building systems.
- Maintain county grounds, including mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Assist with custodial tasks, event setup, and inventory management.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and complete work orders using maintenance software.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Knowledge of custodial, landscaping, and general maintenance. Basic understanding of plumbing, heating, and electrical systems required.
- Skills:
- Ability to operate landscaping and snow removal equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks in various environmental conditions.
Work Environment:
This role requires working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to weather, mechanical equipment, and potential hazards. Protective gear and training are provided.
