Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to be the heartbeat of our healthcare team! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside compassionate professionals, provide essential support, and help create a welcoming environment for our patients.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care. Under direction and supervision by medical professional staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
- BLS/CPR certification required within 3-6 months of hire.
- High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution. Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred.
- 1-4 years previous work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Proficient in Medical terminology and medical office procedures.
- Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
Salary : $50,000
