What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Continuity Manager position at Daikin Comfort North America?
The Business Continuity Manager will be responsible for working with company disciplines to develop, update, and test business impact analysis plans, business continuity plans and related planning components. The Business Continuity Manager will also assist with the deployment and assessment of enterprise-wide continuity planning programs as required to meet company needs.
May include:
• Assists company disciplines to develop and deploy business continuity planning policies.
• Works with personnel to conduct business continuity risk assessment studies to evaluate and identify viable risk reduction strategies.
• Conduct a business impact analysis study evaluating the impacts of a disruption and determine business function and the system recovery time objectives.
• Analyzes deficiencies in company recovery capabilities and evaluates potential recovery strategy enhancements.
• Prepares business continuity documentation including technical and operational recovery plans and other related materials.
• Designs, facilitates, and evaluates disaster recovery and business continuity planning exercises to validate the viability and effectiveness of the company business continuity plan and other recovery planning provisions.
• Works with Business Impact Analysis owners to bring existing materials current and enhance the organizations’ ability to respond to, and recover from, disasters.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on operations and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly.
• Facilitate meetings and ensure effective communication across all stakeholders.
• Develop and train staff as needed.
• Designs and conducts awareness and training events to educate personnel on the importance of business continuity planning and the details of their respective plans.
• Utilizes industry standards to evaluate current disaster recovery and business continuity planning programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience performing International Organization of Standardization (ISO) audits is preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain Business Continuity Planner Certification.
• Ability to be able to create and understand depth in third party support and sourcing.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide information in a clear and concise manner and to communicate with a variety of individuals and company leadership.
• Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and compliance oriented.
• Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Experience:
• 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing environment
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
