What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Accounts Payable, Level 1 position at DAIKIN COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES MFG LP?
The Accounts Payable Manager will perform essential duties including insuring financial report generation timeliness, maintaining accounting standards, and procedures as well as implementing internal audits to ensure compliance of established controls. In addition, they will resolve matters related to financial reporting and controls. The Accounts Payable Manager will also provide direction and training to the staff processing Accounts Payable.
May include:
- Responsible for the organization and quality of the departmental workflow and expected to develop more efficient ways of performing this work
- Manage all accounts payable system maintenance and processing including applicable reference files, or vendor pay process, signature authorities, period-end close processes and reports and related period end reporting and analysis
- Establish and monitor financial controls around the accounts payable function, including the review of related account reconciliations and group performance metrics
- Ensure all invoices are paid in accordance with company policies or guidelines and applicable discounts are taken
- Work with business units and vendors to resolve disputes over late payments, payment amounts, and payment terms
- Coordinate user training for the accounts payable/purchase order system processes.
- Ensure that company’s vendor invoices are properly administered
- Ensure accuracy in daily invoices and meet time limits and deadlines
- Ensure that all account payable functions are performed in accordance with the company’s internal control procedures and policies
- Organize month-end closings and ensure that all invoices are entered or accounted for in order to accrue
- Manage the day to day and overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the accounts payable functions and personnel
- Ensure that all payments are made and approved in accordance with the company’s delegation of authorities
- Monitor and upload all positive pay and ACH payments
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws
- Prepare and submit annual 1099s
- Perform other tasks as assigned

- Ensures work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision
- Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results
- Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Manager/Director
- Works on difficult to moderately complex issues and projects
- Provides guidance and training to subordinates
- Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance and recommend for termination
- Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, preferably SAP
- Ability to manage in a high volume, fast paced changing environment
- Ability to manage employees in remote offices
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Excellent SAP, Excel, Word, Access, Power Point
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact with team members and internal customers
- Demonstrated experience serving internal and external customers/suppliers
- Demonstrated experience establishing and monitoring financial controls in a corporate accounting environment
Competency:
Experience:
- 5 years of accounts payable processing experience
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. Overnight and out-of-state travel as needed, though typically up to 10% depending upon assigned clients. Potential for hybrid or remote work.
