Possess a wide range of knowledge, talents, and skills to facilitate making learning factual and enjoyable to the students.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement a course of study and daily lesson plans.
Recommend budgetary revisions, the selection of teaching materials, curriculum revisions, textbooks and supplies to the Division Dean.
Keep abreast of the latest theories of learning through university training, in-service education and staff meetings, conferences and conventions approved by the College.
Demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching performance and high expectations for all students.
Effectively utilize the materials of the Learning Resources Center in teaching assignments.
Implement teaching activities utilizing the approved course of study as a guide, a diversity of teaching growth of students.
Develop and implement instructions, evaluation and assessment techniques, and methods that are appropriate and timely for each class.
Must demonstrate respect for the needs of a diverse student population through humaneness and dedication to the education profession.
Demonstrate proficiency in the latest technology. Willingness to incorporate technology in the classroom.
Ability to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, and deans.
Promote the College by participating internally on campus activities and committees and externally in the communities that it serves.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the discipline’s real world application in the workplace.
Evaluate and ensure clinical education effectiveness through a schedule of regular visits to the clinical sites.
Implement program goals and clinical education objectives.
Correlate clinical education with didactic education.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor, Continued:
Develop and implement a schedule of student clinical rotations.
Utilize standard methods for evaluation of student clinical performance.
Maintain professional competency within relevant discipline.
Provides student guidance and academic advising. Coordinate and maintain appropriate student records.
Report regularly to the Program Director on the status of the sonography program.
Participate in the designated student selection process for admission into the program.
Participate in student recruitment activities.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
