As a Part-Time Item Processing Specialist at DCI, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations for our community bank clients. Your attention to detail and dedication will directly contribute to empowering local banks and the communities they serve.

The hours for this position are 3–8 PM CST, Monday through Friday. This role is located in Hutchinson, KS, at the operations building.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Return Item Processing:
    • Transmitting electronic return files to the Federal Reserve Bank or other financial institutions.
    • Responding promptly to inquiries and resolving processing-related issues for bank customers.
    • Utilizing imaging applications to produce IRD items for various banks.
  • Balancing:
    • Verifying and balancing grouped check and transaction items, ensuring debits and credits are equal.
    • Processing and balancing capture work for banks, including Teller, ATM, Merchant, and Mobile transactions.
    • Re-entering data for rejected items and performing duplicate item verification.
    • Organizing reports and ensuring continuous operational efficiency.
  • General Item Processing Objectives:
    • Maintaining standards and schedules for item processing.
    • Assisting in quality control and suggesting process improvements.
  • Other Duties:
    • Providing backup for other item processing team members as needed.
    • Keeping workspaces neat and organized.

What Will Help You Stand Out

  • Introductory knowledge of financial data processing, balancing, and bank bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with bank item transaction processing in both image and traditional environments.
  • Strong visual error detection skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs. regularly.
  • High finger dexterity and hand strength.
