Job Description
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to be part of our North Daviess Medical Clinic.
A Nurse Practitioner is both a Registered Nurse and a highly-educated, state-certified medical professional who holds a minimum of a Master's Degree. NP's are known for their focus on providing comprehensive and integrated health-care planning and management services. Nurse Practitioners work with Physicians, and other clinical staff to determine the best care for every patient.
Physician Assistants; PAs are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider. With thousands of hours of medical training, PAs are versatile and collaborative. PAs practice in every state and in every medical setting and specialty, improving healthcare access and quality.
Duties Include:
- Developing treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
- Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patients served.
- Performs diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
- Manages overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues.
- Prescribes medications while using medication reference, as needed.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
- Revises plan of care as indicated by the patients' response to treatment.
- Assists patients in managing chronic conditions, treating illnesses and helping patients make educated choices about their lifestyle, health and well-being.
Qualifications
- Must have a current Indiana Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license. (DEA, NPI, CSR)
- Current BLS certification. ACLS preferred
- Completion of required CME's.
- Computer skills for documentation of patients charts in an EMR.
- Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages beneficial, but not required.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Must be able to multi-task as well as being a team player.
