What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psych Tech (Graveyard Shift) position at Davis Behavioral Health?
Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking graveyard shift Psych Tech candidates to join the clinical teams at the following programs:
- Crisis Recovery Unit (CRU): an adult residential mental health facility for men and women that operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Located in Layton, Utah.
- Davis County Receiving Center (RC): a 23-72 hour alternative to inpatient hospitalization or incarceration that specializes in short-term crisis resolution.
- Regulate emotion, manage impulsivity, and assist clients in learning other skills that will increase their success in their home and community.
- Manage milieu on the unit.
- Take crisis calls.
- Facilitate skills development groups.
- Assist professional staff in group activities.
- Assist clients in accomplishing treatment objectives as outlined by clinical staff.
- Record behaviors and activities.
- Ensure compliance with developed programs and individual treatment plans.
- Act as a liaison between clients, family, and professional staff.
- Providing monitoring of client's behaviors and consequences for clients as needed.
- Provide supervision and structure for clients on site as well as off unit.
- Drive a 15-pasenger van and transport clients to meetings and approved off-unit activities.
- Complete other duties as needed and assigned.
Current Openings
All part-time employees will work their assigned shifts if their home department. On-call shifts may be in either the CRU or Receiving Center based on need at the time the employee is call in for coverage. The following positions are currently available:CRU
Part-time
Position 1 (Graveyard)- Monday 11:00 pm to Tuesday 7:00 am
- Tuesday 11:00 pm to Wednesday 7:00 am
- 2-3 on-call shifts per week
Receiving Center
Part-time
Position 1 (Graveyard)- Saturday & Sunday 12:00 am to 8:00 am
- 2-3 on-call shifts per week
PRN
- CRU or RC
- No set shifts.
- 2-3 on-call shifts per week.
Schedule
These positions are all classified as non-exempt. Successful candidates hired to fill a part-time vacancy must work less than 30 hours per week. Full-time employees are expected to work 40 hours per week.Compensation
The hourly rate for this position, based the established minimum qualifications, is outlined below:Graveyard & Weekends- $21.85 per hour
- 19.00 per hour base rate 15% graveyard/weekend shift differential
Shift Differentials
Psych techs at both the CRU and Receiving Center are eligible for shift differential compensation, as outlined below:Swing Shift- Monday through Friday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am shifts
- 10% shift differential
- Monday through Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am or 12:00 am to 8:00
- All shifts on Saturday and Sunday
- Weekend differentials are not in addition to other shift differentials.

On-call Per Diem
Part-time psych techs who are scheduled for a specific on-call shift are eligible to receive a $20 per diem for each on-call shift they are scheduled.Professional References

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer
Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Further, all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
