Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health is actively seeking a full-time Therapist to work on the Adult Substance Use Treatment Intensive Outpatient (IOP) team. The Adult SUD IOP Therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides therapeutic services for Davis County court involved clients using substances who may also be experiencing a variety of behavioral and psychiatric symptoms.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities are assigned to the Adult SUD Therapist include, but are not limited to the following:

Conduct comprehensive, on-going substance use evaluations, including assessing for co-occurring disorders, and diagnose as appropriate

Provide recommendations for treatment and appropriate level of care

Develop individualized treatment plans consisting of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives and update as needed

Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning
-
Maintain clinical documentation and productivity as required by agency standards
-
Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care
-
Participate in weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled supervision
-
Refer to, consult with and coordinate services with Recovery Supports Specialists
-
Provide backup crisis coverage as needed
Employment Schedule
This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule requires one evening per week and/or some weekend time. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.
Location
This position works out of the DBH SUD IOP clinic located at 129 South State Street, Clearfield, Utah.
Compensation
These positions is classified as full-time, exempt.
Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $73,500 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:

$75,500.00 to $88,000.00 per year is the approved base rate range

1% per year for each year of full licensure
-
$3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
Under-licensed therapists (CSW/ACMHC) are compensated at a rate of $64,000.00 per annum.
Required Experience
The successful candidate must be licensed as a masters-level clinician in the State of Utah. DBH's preference is to hire a fully-licensed LCSW; however, candidates with an active license in the State of Utah as a CSW, CMHC, ACMHC, or MFT will be considered. The Adult Mental Health Outpatient position requires full clinical licensure.
Additional preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
The following skills and abilities are essential:

Clinical expertise in screening, assessments, diagnosis, and crisis intervention

Must have skills in working with substance use disorders, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress

Knowledge of the ASAM patient placement criteria for determining level of care and guiding treatment

Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage clients their natural support systems
-
Considerable knowledge of the techniques and principles of recovery, and mental health/addiction treatment
-
Considerable knowledge of trauma-informed care, including screening, assessing, and treating from a trauma-informed lens
-
Good organizational and practice management skills
-
Ability to work independently and effectively

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies (such as courts, DCFS, workforce services, AP&P, etc.)

Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work. One evening until 8PM is required for all Adult Substance Use Therapists; however, some positions have requirements for more evenings and weekends.
This position requires one who uses social work methods and principles to observe, interpret, and evaluate data gathered through interviews, collateral consults, and assessment methods. Contacts, utilizes, develops and coordinates with community agencies and resources to support client needs.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Flexibility and knowledge of DBH and community resources preferred.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
DBH utilizes an electronic medical health records system, so computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required.
