Position Summary
The Facility Manager will maintain and oversee the safety and functionality of the Center’s building and grounds, storage facility, and equipment; making sure the infrastructure is well maintained and secure. This role reports to the Operations and Finance Manager, and works closely with the contracted commercial cleaning company.

Duties & Responsibilities
● Ensure building adheres to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures
● Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements
● Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments
● Support maintenance and installment work as needed
● Communicate with external contractors and vendors
● Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol
● Run routine maintenance inspections
● Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation
● Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
● Ensure that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained
● Perform general maintenance of the building and grounds
● Inspect building, equipment, and systems for any issues
● Communicate any existing and potential issues with supervisor
● Replace light bulbs, painting, filter changes, trash pickup and debris removal
● Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
● High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
● 1-2 years work experience in maintenance or a similar role
● Experience working with underserved communities
● Responsible for using common hand tools and occasionally sharp tools are involved
● Willing to obtain any necessary maintenance licenses and certifications as needed
● Valid Louisiana driver’s license

● Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks, including capable of lifting loads over 50 pounds
● Excellent time management and multitasking skills
● Exceptional interpersonal skills
● Great problem-solving skills
● Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
● Basic digital literacy skills (Google Workspace, Zoom, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Work Environment & Physical Demand
● Job reports on site at 9801 Lake Forest Blvd, New Orleans, LA, 70127
● Occasional local travel may be required
● Before or after hours setup may be required
● Typical working hours: Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 4 PM
● Flexibility in schedule to offset work outside of regular business hours, as needed
● Availability to work weekends and evenings to represent DSCEJ, as needed
● Sitting or standing in one location much of the time
● Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects (up to 50 pounds) may be required
Salary & Benefits
● Competitive salary range: $48K - $52K, commensurate with qualifications and experience
