WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

We are growing and are looking for an individual who has the ability to continually adjust to change, drive to make a difference, and desire to improve. The primary purpose of this position is to prepare, serve, and handle food in accordance with federal and state regulations and the residence policies and procedures. Cooks should also maintain clean and sanitized dining service areas and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic cooking skills
• Desire to work with seniors
• Must possess a team spirit, good character and personal integrity
• Prior experience cooking for large groups is preferred
• Sanitation certificate preferred
• OSHA Standards
• Fire and Safety procedures
• Operation of kitchen appliances
• Capable of handling emergency situations

FOOD PREPARATION AND DINING SERVICE:

• Prepare menus and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines and resident's individual prescribed diet and food preferences
• Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events
• Visit with residents each meal when available to ensure quality service
• Present food in an appetizing and attractive manner
• Food must be prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standard
