Position Summary
Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dedicated and dynamic part-time Administrative Assistant to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director, and the Act 101 Program. The Administrative Assistant must be an organized team player with the ability to multitask and model outstanding customer service skills. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to reach a diverse student population.
This position has access to sensitive issues and information and is expected to handle such confidential information within the guidelines of integrity and professionalism. This position is expected to represent Delaware County Community College in a professional manner and promote a student-centered customer service approach.
This position will participate in departmental and college-wide meetings, events, and activities as needed. This is a 12-months grant-funded position.
Essential Functions
- Type routine correspondence (responsible for format and organization of written materials), reports, detailed statistical reports, requisitions, program flyers, advertising brochures and newsletter. Required to maintain records of same correspondence.
- Ability to create/design a variety of marketing materials to promote the Act 101 Program and the seven-week Summer Bridge Program component.
- Answers telephone; schedule staff appointments, greet and assist students, as well as, maintain office schedule for events/activities that occur routinely.
- Creates and update student folders and maintain an accurate/current filing system.
- Use Microsoft Access application to create, maintain and monitor database systems for the Act 101 Program.
- Compile and maintain Excel spreadsheet reports.
- Use college on-line applications to schedule meetings, workshops, orientation, cultural events and conferences; and make room reservations.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of staff, students, administration, and the public.
- Handles proof reading, photocopying, scanning and faxing of materials.
- Orders office supplies and process mail.
- Assist in the preparation of mid-year and final performance reports.
- Handles sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Act 101.

Experience & Education
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of one-to-three years of administrative/office management related experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education & experience. Prior related experience in an educational setting is preferred. High School diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associates degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, administrative experience, or technical training is preferred.
