Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Commercial Electrical Helper to join our team full-time in Charlottesville, VA. Reporting to the Foreman or Superintendent, you will assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a commercial environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
Pay Range: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing or repairing electrical materials, devices, fixtures, and equipment.
- Measure and cut conduit, Unistrut, and other materials accurately using a tape measure and bandsaw.
- Learn to bend conduit, install couplings, connectors, and fabricate support hangers for conduit or cable trays.
- Pull wires through conduit for branch and feeder circuits.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, and basic equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and responsibly manage tools and materials.
- Follow supervisor instructions and ask for clarification when necessary.
- Attend job site briefings, safety meetings, and participate in stretch and flex routines.
What We’re Looking For:
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools and their safe usage.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
- Willingness to attend an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training (OJT).
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to safety and teamwork.
