Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation of freight to ensure timely deliveries.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and manage logistics.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and fleet status.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide updates.
- Monitor fleet performance and assist in managing maintenance schedules for vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during dispatch operations.
- Handle incoming calls professionally, utilizing phone etiquette and effective phone systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in transportation management systems is essential for managing logistics efficiently.
- Experience with freight operations and understanding of the transportation industry.
- Strong data entry skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with fleet management practices to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Knowledge of SyteLine or similar software is a plus.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in phone etiquette while handling multiple calls.
