Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction of high-end retail stores across various locations. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage multiple teams, ensure the highest quality standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget while traveling extensively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight:
- Supervise all phases of high-end retail construction projects, from pre-construction to closeout.
- Coordinate on-site activities with subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure seamless execution.
- Travel:
- Travel extensively to project sites nationwide, staying on location for the duration of each project as required.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to meet aggressive timelines.
- Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to align stakeholders and address project updates.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail expected in high-end retail environments.
- Inspect and approve work to confirm compliance with design specifications and brand standards.
- Safety Management:
- Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and meetings to ensure a culture of safety on all job sites.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, designers, and corporate teams.
- Provide detailed progress reports to the project manager and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving:
- Anticipate and resolve challenges, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Implement effective solutions to address unforeseen issues while maintaining project integrity.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, with a strong focus on high-end retail projects.
- Expertise in managing fast-paced construction schedules and delivering exceptional finishes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).
- Solid understanding of retail construction methods, materials, and luxury brand standards.
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaboration in high-pressure environments.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel extensively and adapt to varying project schedules.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Education:
