Primary Job Description: Programmer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software to optimize geometry and part features for machining, and communication of any design changes or modifications back to applicable engineers or drafting personnel
- Proficient understanding and ability to edit G and M code
- Design and fabrication of any custom fixtures, jigs, or other work-holding devices needed
- Creation of mechanical drawings or blueprints if required
- Planning of machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs for a variety of materials including aluminum, steels, Inconel and Titanium.
- Procurement and preparation of any required material stock
- Promptly and accurately complete all required recordkeeping
- Maintain security and confidentiality of customer and internal products and documentation
- Participate in providing timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations with the team to ensure best practices.
- Provide feedback on ways to reduce scrap created within the process by recommending corrective action to reduce or eliminate root cause
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor
- Able to use independent judgment with minimum oversight
Minimum Job Requirement:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be U.S. Citizen
- Must not be: prohibited from handling or working in proximity to firearms based on laws and regulations outlined and enforced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (BTAFE), or outlined in the Gun Control Act (GCA 1968), or outlined in the National Firearms Act (NFA 1934), or a “prohibited possessor” as outlined by Arizona State Statute (ARS 13-3101)

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in CNC programming in a production environment
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software preferably MasterCAM and Solidworks
- Familiar with Okuma and Mori Seiki Lathes, as well as HAAS and Matsuura Mills
- Knowledge of ANSI 14.5 and GDT standards
- Knowledge of and experience with International Standard Organization (ISO) requirements (Optional)
- Knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements and procedures

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, hearing, seeing, use of hands and arms and the use of legs to lift. Additionally, the employee must physically be able to hold, lift and operate all types of firearms. This individual must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
