Responsibilities:
- Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
- Prospect and contact potential customers
- Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
- Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
- Travel to trade shows/events
- Play well with others
- 6-8 years of experience in Business Development and Technical Sales in the Government Space and IC Community
- Proven experience selling information technology products to US Government in a small to mid-sized company, proven experience in securing services contracts related to a small to mid-sized company's product
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills with experience working with large, structured, process-oriented organizations
- Proven sales record with high end technical products
- Strong understanding of Federal and State procurement processes and programs, with the ability to manage an opportunity from start to finish
- Experience with trade shows in the government space
- Must be capable of building and managing multiple business pipelines
- Ability to create and or modify material specifically tailored to targeted opportunities. This requires the ability to work and interact with both company executives as well as technical talent
- Must be able to understand and discuss advanced technological concepts, particularly in the realms of communication and information technology
- Knowledge of GSA schedule/sales
- Eligible for a clearance
Requirements
The ideal Candidate will have the following:
- Experience with business development in small company environment; experience with business development in small/startup companies in technology
- Experience with business development in small/startup companies selling technology to government customers.
- Proven experience selling information technology products to US Government in a small to mid-sized company, proven experience in securing services contracts related to a small to mid-sized company's product
- Bring an existing network/relationship to utilize in the role
- Ability to work well with a marketing partner to advance development and sales
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong negotiation skills
