Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the operations team to ensure efficient production, packaging, and distribution of catering products.
- Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure a safe, productive, and compliant working environment.
- Support the operations manager in assessing and implementing operational improvements.
- Contribute to strategic forecasting and risk management planning.
- Plan and communicate productio n, transportation , and dispatch activities with departments .
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements from airlines, airports, ports, and other authorities.
- Oversee ramp safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Safe Program standards.
- Evaluate, enhance, and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistent and compliant operations.
- Develop and generate reports related to operational performance and cost analysis as requested by management.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all products meet DO & CO standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of catering services, including updating customer specifications and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
- Communicate operational information and production requirements to the relevant departments.
- Resolve any highlighted problems swiftly and professionally while maintaining effective communication with clients.
- Lead by example, provide clear guidance, and build a motivated and cohesive team.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of managerial experience within operations or logistics , preferably in airline catering or FMCG.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Ensures compliance and quality across all operational processes.
- Familiarity with airside, aviation, or food manufacturing is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance, DOT standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and manage large teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a hands-on approach.
- Demonstrates proactive decision-making and the ability to resolve operational challenges quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and relevant logistics software.
- Must be able to obtain a PANYNJ ID (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey) as per TSA regulations (49 CFR
- 1542.209).
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, including flexibility for night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Expected salary range: $ 90,000 - $100,000 annually .
