JOB TITLE: Assistant Controller
DEPARTMENT: Business Office
REPORTS TO: Controller
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Primarily responsible for managing various accounting functions, reconciliations, and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Controller with audit and various reporting requirements (IPEDS, EADA, FISAP, etc).
- Assist the Controller with annual tax reporting requirements. (Forms 990, 1098-T, 1099)
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and institutional loan accounts.
- Manage the accounting fnction for grants and special accounts (i.e. The Thrive Center, Northwest Iowa Resarch Institute).
- Perform reconciliations for various scholarship accounts.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
- Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

- A Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or Business/Finance is preferred. Coursework in accounting and installment lending with a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training is desired.
