As a Graduate Engineer I, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the development and design of civil infrastructure projects, ranging from basic to complex. Your responsibilities will include drafting and design activities, ensuring conformity with project scope and design standards, and collaborating with the project team on various infrastructure components.

KNOWLEDGE:
0-2 years of civil engineering/design experience
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent degree
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the state of Texas is preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
As a Graduate Engineer I, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the development and design of civil infrastructure projects, ranging from basic to complex. Your responsibilities will include drafting and design activities, ensuring conformity with project scope and design standards, and collaborating with the project team on various infrastructure components.
Once selected to join our team, you will:
- Perform engineering tasks according to standard techniques and procedures with supervision.
- Assist the project team in developing and designing paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure, including plans, specifications, and cost opinions.
- Ensure conformity with the project scope and applicable design standards.
- Interpret rough sketches and plan redlines to create and edit plans/drawings.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist with cost opinions of design elements.
- Conduct property and existing utility research as needed.
- Interact with staff representatives of jurisdictional agencies to obtain approvals for drawings and specifications during permitting and construction phases.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE:
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation software or applicable design software related to the specific area of focus
- MS Office and Bluebeam
- Basic Knowledge of civil infrastructure, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sewer infrastructure.
- Ability to complete multiple assignments through effective multi-tasking and prioritizing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team or independently.
- Ability to execute assignments with minimal direction.
0-2 years of civil engineering/design experience
