Objective Summary
Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining basic machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. This role involves setting up machines, ensuring they are running efficiently, and monitoring production to ensure quality standards are met. Machine Operator I is expected to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues, and adhere to safety protocols.
Key Position Activities
1. Read and understand work orders to determine specified operations and to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
2. Using console buttons and commands program CNC controls according to blueprints.
3. Understanding of CNC programming for Brake Press
4. Operate machine using all process steps activating machine with the proper control panel buttons and foot pedals.
5. Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and product quality.
6. Stack, mark, pack, and transport finished products.
7. Multi-task to perform other duties assigned by team leader and management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work in a safe, and courteous manner.
- Regular attendance is an expectation of the job.
- Read and understand directions, including job cards and blueprints set-up form material needed to create bellow.
- Operate brake press machines to bend metal pieces and plates.
- Operate a heim machine to create holes.
- Assist fellow teammates in their operations when necessary.
- Support the operation focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
- Use hand tools (i.e. hammer, mallet).
- Perform preventative maintenance per schedule.
- Update status of jobs and view upcoming jobs in ERP software.
- Communicate with team members, team leader, and management of production activities for shift transitions.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential
- High School Diploma /GED or higher-level education.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to read a ruler or tape measure.
- Ability to read a blueprint (preferred)
Preferred
- Manufacturing industry expertise.
