East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a career technical school that provides high school and adult students with advanced skills and training needed to thrive in today's competitive job market. EVIT offers 50 career technical education programs, as well as Associate degrees in Nursing and Surgical Technology. EVIT prepares students for state and national licensing, industry certifications, internships, and the opportunity to earn college credit. EVIT programs are tuition-free for high school students who live within the following school districts: Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Higley, J.O. Combs, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tempe. EVIT offers adult programs that allow adults to improve their current skills or learn new skills. Applications are being accepted for the position of Adult Education Adjunct Instructor for General Education Courses Math with the East Valley Institute of Technology. This is a part-time (8-week sessions; 3-4 credit load) position located at our Main Street campus located in Mesa, AZ. The salary for this position is $1,500 / per load credit

Position Summary
The Adjunct Instructor will join a dynamic academic team at EVIT and provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in their area of credentialed expertise. The Adjunct Instructor will teach students who come from diverse backgrounds. This position is part-time and will teach in a general classroom setting, online or hybrid setting and will support EVIT’s mission to provide high-quality education. Under the general supervision of the Director, the Adjunct Instructor will work with students to provide them knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career. This position will continually assess and enhance the curriculum to meet EVIT’s educational requirements, the students’ needs while adhering and following all rules and regulations of our accrediting organizations; thus, ensuring high academic standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience in the content field.
• Bachelor's degree in their content or related field.
• Strong passion for teaching and interacting with students.
• Must have 15 semester hours in Math in addition to the Bachelor's degree.

Licensing / Certification and Other Requirements

• Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) fingerprint card. Applicable Arizona Statutes pursuant to title 15 (Education) and Title 13 (Criminal) and Title 38 (Public Officer and Employees) prevail.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) if born after January 1, 1957.
