Screening Specialists are responsible for maintaining standards of program quality and compliance with program regulations. The role requires confidence, diplomacy, and discretion. Screening Specialists oversee a region of local exchange coordinators and are charged with training and guiding them in the host family screening process. This role also works with prospective host families as they move through the application process. Screening Specialists determine final suitability and acceptance while also working to ensure host families and local exchange coordinators remain well-supported and excited about their upcoming experience.
- 1-3 years customer service experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional/office experience is a plus
- Strong sense of organization and attention to detail
- Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Deadline-driven with the ability to motivate field staff to hit challenging goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new technology platforms
