Supporting the management team with day-to-day operation of the warehouse. Team Leads ensure efficient operations in achieving business targets and departmental metrics by acting as a bridge between employees and supervisors.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide day to day tactical leadership to hourly teammates to ensure KPIs and quality standards are met.
- Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards while fostering a culture of working safety, teamship, quality and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for training new teammates on the processes used to perform in their jobs.
- Ensure that teammates have the required resources to be successful at their work.
- Act as the technical expert in the department while setting the example for safety, attendance, productivity, and attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ensure tasks are completed on time and redirect the work force as needed to help in other areas.
- Where possible, resolve any issues or problems which occur in the area. Where appropriate, elevate the issue to more senior leadership.
- Communicate with staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, operational requirements, and shift hand-offs where applicable.
- Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to warehouse supervisors and/or managers.
- Act as a liaison with customers, suppliers, and transport companies when required in a timely, professional way.
- Ensure inventories in area of responsibility are accurate.
- Do spot quality audits in area of responsibility.
- Help track the accountability of the department on all transactions.
- Produce regular reports and statistics as required.
- Participate and/or lead in continuous improvement events.

- High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar industry
- Has team leader skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Is self-aware with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of not meeting deadlines/ cost of poor quality.
- Effective communicator at all levels within the organization
- Knowledge of operating systems and equipment used in each department
- Basic understanding and experience with MS Office, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Able to Walk and/or stand for long periods of time
- Able to bend at waist
- Able reach above the shoulder level.
