Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Shop Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the equipment maintenance and repair shop.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair activities for heavy equipment, trucks, and vehicles to ensure timely completion and minimal downtime.
- Supervise and provide guidance to shop technicians, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards and procedures.
- Manage inventory levels of parts, supplies, and equipment, and maintain accurate records of stock levels, usage, and orders.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments and project teams to prioritize equipment needs and support project requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist with training and development of shop personnel, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or management training preferred.
- Previous experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks, and vehicle systems and components.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
- Proficiency with computer systems and software applications for inventory management and maintenance tracking.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to equipment maintenance and repair.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
