Success in the Role: What “extras” will I acquire during my employment as an intern?  

As an intern in the Energy, Renewables, and Environmental Services at ENERCON, you can expect to be involved in various tasks and projects related to the energy industry. Your specific responsibilities may vary depending on the company's needs and your area of focus. However, as an intern, you may be engaged in activities such as conducting research, data analysis, assisting with engineering or technical tasks, supporting project management efforts, contributing to safety and compliance initiatives, participating in site visits or inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This internship experience will provide you with valuable exposure to the energy services sector and an opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in a real-world professional setting.    

 

As an intern on this team, you could work on the following:  

·       Gain exposure in designing and preparing engineering design packages for existing power plants or new plant elements.  

·       Applying basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts to put together engineering design packages.  

·       Reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications to support the preparation of project deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.  

·       Gaining familiarity with and application of industry codes and government regulations.  

·       Ability to learn discipline-specific computer analysis codes.  

·       Working on a multidisciplinary team.  

·       Interfacing with other staff engineers as well as engineers working for our clients.  

·       Conducting site walkdowns at different clients’ sites.  

 

What are skills that would be helpful for a successful internship?  

·       Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a grad date between December 2024 and June 2025. Any candidates outside of those graduation dates will also be reviewed. 

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills, including fluency in Korean.

·       College transcript needed for anyone under 1 year of experience post-graduation.

·       Familiarity with preparing Electrical calculations.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

·       Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.

·       Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.

·       Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at sites. 

·       Must be able to traverse stairs and ladders at client sites.

·       Must be able to traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns.

·       Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions.

·       Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks.  Position may involve a client site assignment lasting several months at a time.

Where is this role located?  

Kennesaw, GA (HQ) and Tampa, FL

 

Employment Requirements:   

·       Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies.   

·       Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
