Responsibilities
- Assist the estimating team with quantity take-offs and material counts for various industrial mechanical projects.
- Support the collection and organization of subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Help prepare bid packages, including reviewing specifications and drawings under the guidance of experienced Estimators.
- Observe and participate in project estimate reviews, hand-off meetings, and close-out meetings.
- Learn to use estimating software like Trimble Autobid, FastPipe, and MS Office Suite.
- Help maintain organized estimate files and records (digital and physical).
- Track and document addendums, RFIs, and other bid-related communications.
- Assist in keeping the bid calendar updated and ensure deadlines are communicated to the team.
- Gain exposure to value engineering concepts and how estimates impact project outcomes.
- Attend internal team meetings and site visits (when appropriate) to understand the full project lifecycle from estimating to execution.
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in mechanical construction and industrial projects.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, or estimating software like FastPipe is a plus.
- Previous internship or hands-on experience in construction, engineering, or related industries is a plus.
