Electrical Project Engineer

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will lead the development and execution of engineering projects in power generation and heavy industrial facilities.

This role involves managing budgets, schedules, scope, and quality to ensure project success with minimal oversight. You'll design and prepare comprehensive engineering packages, including drawings, calculations, and specifications, while applying technical principles and adhering to industry codes and standards.

• Take ownership of project budgets, scopes, schedules, and quality, delivering results with minimal supervision.
• Lead and guide both routine and complex technical tasks performed by team members, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Create detailed engineering design packages for power generation and industrial clients, meeting their specific needs.
• Utilize core technical principles, standards, and concepts to develop practical and innovative solutions.
• Produce precise design drawings and technical specifications, contributing to project deliverables like calculations and engineering evaluations.
• Review and validate designs, drawings, and data from team members and subcontractors for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure all work aligns with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Embrace opportunities to learn and apply discipline-specific computer analysis tools.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers from diverse disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues and client engineers, fostering teamwork and communication.
• Travel as needed to participate in field installations, system checkouts, and start-up activities, contributing hands-on expertise.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with generally at least 3 years of experience
• Power system design experience preferred
• Strong skills in writing, presentation and communication
• Proficient in performing electrical calculations
• Able to provide informed recommendation based on expertise
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven ability as an individual contributor and team member
• Physically able to visit client sites (including stairs or ladders)
• Open to travel up to 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications / skills

• PE license highly preferred; EIT preferred
• Prior ETAP or SKM experience is a plus
• Renewables experience is a plus
