What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Technician - Full-time position at Environmental Science International, Inc.?
The primary duty for this position is to perform fieldwork (e.g., collecting soil, water, petroleum product, and other media samples; field documentation; subcontractor oversight). The successful candidate must be able to perform the following physical and mental demands.
· Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of this position.
· Requires working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
· Requires working with hazardous substance, in confined spaces or in remote areas.
· Requires sitting, standing, and walking; frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds.
· Requires working off-island for extended periods, as directed.
· Requires being detail-oriented, working effectively in a busy field or office environment, and working with deadlines.
· Requires working cooperatively with others.
· Requires working with minimal supervision.
· Requires personal and professional discretion and judgment in all matters.
· Requires executing at all times safe work practices.
· Have a valid driver's license and vehicle.
Experience is desired but not required. Successful candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge.
· Knowledge of OSHA safe work practices.
· Haz Mat training and experience (lead-based paint, asbestos, fuel systems)
· Basic knowledge of operating and maintaining field and industrial equipment.
· Good decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
· Knowledge of basic scientific and technical principles.
· Basic knowledge of the operation of computers, printers, and other office equipment.
· Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook), or equivalent.
· Able to learn new software programs.
Salary : $40,000 - $50,000
