We have an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Medical Assistant which is onsite in McKinney, TX at Questcare Medical Clinic, Pulmonary Care.
This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm - no nights or weekends!!
The Medical Assistant will perform clinical functions such as taking history and vital signs, documenting results, coordinating lab and prescription orders, and assisting with minor office procedures. This role also assures optimal patient flow within the clinical areas and communicates issues with physicians, clinical, administrative staff, and management. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate! Certification is not required!

- Thorough understanding of a medical facility's processes and practices.
- Flexible and able to multitask with a sense of urgency.

- Must have flexibility to work in other local clinics to cover shifts as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 years of Medical Assistant experience or recently obtained Medical Assistant Certification.
- Medical Assistant Certification/License is a plus, but not required.
- Working knowledge of eClincalWorks is also preferred.

Clinical:
- Takes patient vital signs, medical histories, prepare patient for tests or examinations, explain procedures to patient, assist physician during exam, calling in prescriptions to pharmacies and may prepare patient (depending on location) for X-rays.
- Frequent communication with physicians and MLP's to discuss patient concerns requiring thorough knowledge of processes and issues.
- Following standard operating procedures for Medical Assistants, you will perform basic medical procedures including cleaning and dressing patient wounds and/or removing sutures and staples as directed by the MLP or Physician.
Administrative:
- Work with patients to schedule appointments/medical procedures, process insurance forms, FMLA forms, update patient charts and records.
- Identify and resolve problems in reasonableness of FMLA requests, insurance pre-certifications, etc.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when answering phones, greeting or corresponding with patients, co-workers and physicians.
- Create, maintain and update patient medical records in the system while maintaining patient medical records confidentiality.
- Orders medical supplies
- Clean and stock exam rooms
- Clean surgical instruments and prepare and run autoclave.
- Perform administrative responsibilities to support the business.
- Look for opportunities to streamline processes or improve quality or efficiency.
