What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Governance Analyst position at ePATHUSA Inc?
Seeking a Data Governance Analyst that will be responsible for completing many job duties related to the Microsoft Purview application. Responsibilities include:
- Implementation and oversight of electronic searches for documents through the eDiscovery Premium and Standard platforms. Corresponding with data/records requestors to develop and modify search terms as needed
- Implementation of searches, assist in the interpretation of results and producing results for final review by MSDH Data Governance or Legal before release
- Organizing and indexing data assets for easy discovery and understanding
- Applying labels and tags to data based on sensitivity and regulatory requirements
- Tracking the origins, movements, and transformations of data throughout its lifecycle
- Providing analytical capabilities to derive insights and enhance decision-making
- Ensuring data usage complies with regulatory standards and internal policies
- Coordinate with relevant departments or personnel to retrieve requested data and compile necessary documents for disclosure
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of information provided in response to requests
- Communicate, as needed, with requesters to clarify requests, provide updates on processing status, and coordinate delivery of requested information
- Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance to develop and revise policies, Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines related to data management and governance
- Ensure that policies align with federal and state data laws, regulations and organizational objectives
- Monitor and interpret federal and state data protection laws, regulation(such has HIPPAA) and industry standards
- Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate agency staff on data governance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Foster a culture of compliance and data stewardship across the organization
- Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance in developing and designing data management applications and systems. Aim to improve the agency's data capabilities for public health purposes
Provide general support to the agency in its projects funded under the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant, specifically under Strategy A3: Data Modernization
Requirements
Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excell, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe
- Experience in the utilization of Microsoft Purview to:
- implement and manage data governance frameworks that enhance organizational efficiency and comply with regulatory standards and conduct
Conduct eDiscovery Premium searches -

Preferred
Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards governing the management of sensitive data (HIPPA, NITECH, NIST Standards)Benefits
