The IT Project Manager Sr. is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of multiple business-sponsored small, medium, and large IT infrastructure development programs or projects to deliver tasks on time, within budget, and within scope. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, vendors and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
Craft communication for Senior Leaders and Sponsors to clearly define the project health, status and any issues or risks. This is a senior level position that can plan and drive work, communicate, and document and drive issues to resolution independently and with little to no oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, business analysts, application developers, infrastructure engineers, and quality assurance testers.
- Create, document, and communicate the program/project budget and gain approval. Track budget and report out on the Manage projects to budget and ensure change control identifies variances to budget, schedule, or scope.
- Develop project documentation and artifacts including project charter, project schedule (timeline), project resource plan, project cost estimates and tracking, risks and issues log, weekly status and project closure.
- Organize and facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint and release planning, and other agile development related activities.
- Ensure effective, timely, and consistent communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Effectively manage and communicate issues and risks and develop mitigation plans. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Qualifications:
- 5 - 7years project management experience leading IT application/software development projects in a medium to large enterprise environment.
- Experience in multiple project management methodologies, including a solid understanding of Agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
- Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, ServceNow, or similar tools.
- Understand business and technology enough so you can ask meaningful questions, accurately build plans and timelines, raise issues, remove blockers, and effectively communicate project status.
- Able to successfully manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
- PMI-PMP certification
- Banking industry experience preferred
- Experience with business application projects a huge plus
