What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Manager position at ETE REMAN?
The Shipping Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center. This includes assigning appropriate work responsibilities to staff and ensuring the accuracy of same day shipping to customers as well as batch orders sent to warehouses. The Shipping Manager will also be the main proponent in driving improvements and optimization of all processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and bill out sales orders.
- Main point of contact for ERP communications/changes.
- Create and maintain shipping SOPs.
- Communicate with other departments regarding ship times, tracking numbers, and carrier information.
- Strengthen relationships with various carriers and track shipments. Resolve issues.
- Direct and lead staff. Interview and hire new staff. Develop on-boarding material to ensure new staff are successful.
- Run finished goods inventory as needed and train personal on inventory best practices.
- Lead department meetings. Communicate as appropriate to staff.
- Develop metrics to measure success. Prepare and provide updates as needed to other leaders.
- Make sure employees are productive and at their workstations on time, and schedule vacations.
- Maintain a safe, clean & organized work environment.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- Must have at least 5-10 years of warehouse experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in a warehouse setting
- Forklift Certified or ability to become certified
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Experience and familiarity with ERP systems. SyteLine experience highly desired
- Ability to function in a high production environment.
- Must have strong attention to detail. Care about quality
- Basic computer skills. MS Office products – Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to promote and live ETE Values on a daily basis. Willingness to learn
