SUMMARY

Develop strategies to retain and acquire profitable relationships from existing and potential new fields of membership to maximize the profitability of the assigned membership service area. Responsible for the implementation and success of the community development strategies for the Credit Union. Promotes products and services that meet member needs and fit into the Credit Union's overall mission and vision. Works in the community to develop positive relationships with community and business leaders and community organizations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Management reserves the right to change or modify the functions of this job as required to meet the needs of the organization.


  • Grow, retain and maximize new relationships established through business and community development efforts
  • Research prospective community and employer groups in membership areas, pursue and follow up on leads
  • Fosters relationships with employer group contacts and community leaders to build and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships
  • Undertake research for new business proposals and present them to potential businesses
  • Develops community relationships between schools, non-profit organizations, and other community organizations
  • Possesses a strong understanding of our products and services and be able to communicate the features and benefits to members and potential members
  • Research competition in the area and maintain an understanding of their product offerings including products, services, rates, and promotions
  • Develops and implements Financial Education programs as needed by community organizations
  • Attend relevant events and activities to represent the company and build strong relationships with key community members
  • Acts as the liaison between the Credit Union and the community for corporate sponsorships.
  • Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events that promote products, services, and ideas of the company
  • Assists with any needed aspects of promotions or events to market products and services
  • Build strong relationships and networks with colleagues, clients and the media and answer enquiries from media and other organizations
  • Stays abreast of trends in the industry, banking regulations, state and federal laws by attending industry functions, seminars and conferences to learn about market trends and changes in the industry.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field from four-year College or University is required. A minimum of three (1-2) years' experience in developing, designing, and implementing marketing programs and/or the development and implementation of Public Relations or Community Development programs is required.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Possess exceptional public speaking skills. Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Strong research and analytical skills


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of PC system, Microsoft Office software. Possess superior negotiation and presentation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Good organizational skills and creative abilities are needed. Must have valid driver's license due to travel requirements
