Description

EXAR is seeking an experienced Home Health Administrator with an active Indiana RN license to lead and manage the daily operations of our home health agency client. As a key player in our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the client's home health agency delivers exceptional care to our patients while maintaining regulatory compliance and driving business growth. Job Description:


The Home Health Administrator will have full responsibility for the management and oversight of the agency's clinical and administrative functions. This position requires a deep understanding of home health regulations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to balance clinical care with operational efficiency. As the Administrator, you will ensure that patients receive high-quality care while also focusing on the agency's financial health, growth, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:

- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, home health aides, and administrative staff.
- Provide clinical guidance and administrative oversight to ensure the agency delivers top-tier patient care.
- Implement performance management strategies, including staff evaluations, performance improvement plans, and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure the team follows best practices and adheres to the agency's policies and procedures.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Indiana state licensure requirements for home health agencies.
- Oversee compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and the Indiana Department of Health regulations.

- Maintain agency accreditation and prepare for state and federal audits, including surveys from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Develop, implement, and regularly update agency policies and procedures to align with regulatory changes.

  • Clinical Operations Oversight:

- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure that clinical services are delivered in compliance with physician orders and align with agency standards.
- Review and monitor patient care plans, ensuring individualized care delivery that promotes positive health outcomes.
- Implement and oversee the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program to enhance patient care and improve outcomes.
- Ensure accurate documentation of clinical services and timely submission of reports and claims.

  • Financial Management:

- Manage the agency’s budget, ensuring that the agency operates within its financial goals while delivering high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and manage denials or underpayments.
- Track key financial metrics, such as revenue, expenses, and cash flow, and implement cost-containment measures as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of cost-effective measures without compromising patient care quality.

  • Business Development and Community Outreach:

- Drive business development efforts by expanding referral networks with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key referral sources to increase patient census and the agency’s presence in the community.
- Represent the agency at community events, professional organizations, and outreach programs to promote services and build brand awareness.

  • Strategic Planning and Growth:

- Work with senior leadership to develop and execute the agency’s strategic plan, with a focus on growth, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify new service opportunities and market trends to position the agency for continued growth.
- Set and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient care, staff performance, and agency profitability.

  • Customer Relations and Patient Satisfaction:

- Act as the primary point of contact for patient and family concerns, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that patients and their families are provided with education and resources to make informed decisions about their care.
- Monitor patient satisfaction surveys and implement changes based on feedback to continually improve the patient experience.

Qualifications


Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Indiana (active and in good standing).

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical nursing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role in home health or healthcare administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance home health regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, improving operational efficiency, and driving financial performance.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing clinical and administrative teams.
- Proven track record of improving patient outcomes and leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with home health management software (such as HHAeXchange, Kinnser, or similar platforms) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
