Position Summary
The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, building control cabinets and maintaining electrical systems in industrial settings. The individual will be expected to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, as well as read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Additionally, the Industrial Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is done in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit systems
- Install outlets and lighting fixtures
- Install electrical equipment
- Follow electrical schematics
- Assist troubleshooting or replace electrical components as needed
- Follow local, state, and national electric codes
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Build control cabinets, mounting components, wiring and installing
- Understanding of wiring control voltage and distribution transformers
- Practices grounding standards
Experience Requirements
- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work on 480Vac systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Licensing and certification as an electrician preferred
- Experience working in industrial settings such as factories, plants, or warehouses
- Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems is a plus
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Willingness to keep up with industry developments and advancements
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial setting as an electrician.
