Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems and related equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read schematics, and proficiency with hand and power tools. The Alarm Technician will work in various environments, ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and comply with safety regulations.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial and residential settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning alarm systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to build and implement effective alarm solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and configurations.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repairs.
- Conduct field service visits to assess customer needs and provide technical support.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory logs.
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices related to fire safety systems.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for installation and repair tasks.
- Must be able to work with others.
- Working knowledge of meters and hand tools.
- A Fire Alarm Certification and/or Alabama Journeyman's License.
- Must have a valid Alabama driver's license
- Must be able to pass a preemployment
- 4 years of experience in installation and /or maintenance of fire alarm detection systems, hold a NICET certification or equivalent and or an electrical journeyman license.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients effectively.
