Description
The Director of Grants Administration is responsible for overseeing all grant-related activity for government funding and corporate, private and public foundations. This can include the preparation of grant proposals and reports; researching government, foundation, corporate and other funding sources; maintenance of grants calendar, database and administration of activities related to grant awards, including meeting deadlines for grants/reports, creating attachments for inclusion with proposals and maintaining grant support files.
- Working in collaboration with Family Tree Executive Team and Grants Associate, draft and submit grant proposals and reports, and attend appropriate trainings and funder meetings.
- Develop language to describe Family Tree and its programs for use in grants and other communications.
- In collaboration with Grants Associate and Program Impact Evaluator, regularly collect statistics, narratives, and key updates from programs.
- Oversee and administer activities related to grant awards, including contract review, reporting and communications.
- With Chief Development Officer and Executive Team, strategize areas in need of support and appropriate grant funding sources.
- Research, identify and cultivate potential funders and funding sources.
- Supervise Grants Associate.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders.
- Provide reports to Executive Team on status of current grant applications, reports and contracts, potential funding sources and upcoming grants, information needed and timelines.
- Work with the Gifts & Community Support Team to prepare other written materials as requested, including annual reports, brochures and other marketing materials, and thank you letters, so as to maintain consistency in language.
- Support the Gifts & Community Support Team when appropriate for events, presentations and other donor and volunteer activities.
Qualifications

Undergraduate degree or comparable experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Ability to initiate tasks and projects; organize and set priorities; and coordinate multiple tasks with multiple priorities, many of which are time sensitive.
- Ability to help hold team members engaged in grants process accountable to grant needs and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to strategize and work in collaboration to achieve revenue goals.
- Knowledge of Family Tree’s primary service areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
