JOB DESCRIPTION
FINANCIAL REPORTING STAFF ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO: FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER
The Financial Reporting Staff Accountant will create, refine, and maintain financial reports for the company and assist with financial reporting and analysis to support company management. Strong analytical skills and a robust understanding of financial statements are required for this position.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, refine, and maintain financial, operational, and statistical reports of various business segments
- Investigate any discrepancies between the company’s accounting software and the reporting software
- Ensure accurate and consistent reporting across divisions
- Prepare budgeting and forecasting templates and workflow for divisional input
- Verify accuracy of month-end financials: P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet reports
- Create ad hoc reports as needed to help assist all users of the financial statements
- Assist with importing additional information required to produce consolidated financial statements
- Help maintain the underlying financial reporting models by performing administrative functions such as ledger account additions, user security, routine model maintenance, etc.
- Assist the Financial Reporting Manager with special projects
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required
- Experience in financial reporting software, such as Prophix, preferred
- Experience creating GAAP compliant financial statements preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with people at all levels of the company
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, curiosity and a desire to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize
