Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Funeral Director at FINCH FUNERAL CHAPEL, L.L.C. in La Vernia, TX. The Funeral Director will be responsible for assisting families in planning and coordinating funeral services, ensuring all arrangements are carried out with professionalism, and providing support to grieving families.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Previous experience in a funeral directing role is preferred
- Understanding of funeral etiquette and traditions
- In-depth understanding of the human anatomy and embalming process
- Empathy, compassion, and professionalism when dealing with families
- Knowledge of funeral service practices and regulations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Accepts first-calls and responds to removal assignments in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral operations such as transportation and preparation of deceased.
- Preparation of all legal documentation or permits needed.
- Meets with families to discuss funeral arrangements with a relationship approach.
- Provides guidance throughout the selection process of flowers, caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise.
- Arrange for embalming or cremation services per families request.
- Coordinates with clergy or celebrants to conduct funeral ceremonies.
- Assist with post-funeral tasks such as obituary writing, memorial service planning, and monument ordering.
