What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial Worker Part-Time position at Legacy Funeral Group, LLC?
The part-time Janitorial Worker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas.
Specific Responsibilities
- Perform general cleanup of all areas of the building as directed
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking lot
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
- Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped
- Troubleshoot issues with HVAC system, lighting and indoor climate control as necessary
- This job is Nonexempt.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience would be a definite asset
- Previous customer service and/or sales experience would be a definite asset
- Good communication skills
- High level of compassion and integrity

- Professional and team player
Working Conditions
The job is constantly required to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs. (without the assistance of mobile, powered equipment).
Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is constantly required (i.e., more than 75% of time on the job).
Physical work pace and/or exertion requires somewhat rapid movement and/or effort and brings on a moderate amount of physical fatigue.
When considering the physical environment, the job works within (because of the nature of the job) the following factors may apply:
- The job requires working outdoors, sometimes in hot and cold temperatures and in all other weather conditions
- Moderate odors, dust, pollen, or fumes may cause discomfort and/or irritation to eyes or respiratory passages
- Loud noise from equipment/machines is at a level where ear protection is recommended
