Supply Chain Specialist
The Supply Chain Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing our company's supply chain operations. The position is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and distribution. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient and seamless flow of materials and products, meeting customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing operational effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to secure optimal terms and pricing
Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards
Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce stockouts or overstocks
Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend appropriate action
Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including arranging shipments, managing freight costs, and tracking delivery schedules
Work closely with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize delivery routes and transit times
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and upcoming promotions or events
Adjust inventory plans accordingly to meet changing demand patterns and seasonal fluctuations
Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain process and propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
Streamline processes for order processing, procurement, and demand fulfillment to increase productivity and meet customer expectations
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to supply chain operations
Support company audits such as ISO, etc.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
Proven experience as a Supply Chain Specialist or in a similar role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of supply chain processes
Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting
Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software, forecasting tools); Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is preferred
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel pivot tables & v-lookups.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping procedures, and customs clearance is a plus
