Field Service Technician
Fire Rover, LLC seeks a qualified, competent, motivated, and experienced individual to join our team as a Field Service Technician based in the Southeast United States. As a Field Service Technician with Fire Rover, you travel to worksites and facilities to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and testing of our fire detection and suppression systems. We are looking for someone based in the Greater Scranton area or within 100 miles.
Our ideal candidate has a wide range of experience completing mechanical and low-voltage equipment repairs with a background based in the security and fire installation/service industries. This is a “road warrior” type position that will have you on the road upwards of three weeks at a time. Candidates should be mechanically and technically inclined and detail oriented in their work and written word. In addition, qualified applicants should have a minimum of two years experience, with a desire to learn in all aspects of our equipment platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all Fire Rover clients
- Provide troubleshooting as well as performing installation of replacement equipment as needed including cable/wire runs
- Perform tests and diagnostics to ensure hardware and software is in good working order
- Report maintenance and repairs in our company customer/service database
- Inventory control of service van stock
- Periodically will assist our installation crews in the installation of new systems
- When not traveling, will periodically assist in the production of new systems in our Farmington Hills, Michigan production facility
- Skills & Requirements
- Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, database, and remote-control systems· Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technical products· Must be willing to travel long distances, in a company vehicle, to client sites (national base of customers) approximately 75% of job will be traveling/on the road· Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision· Working knowledge of networks with internet connection, network switches and patch panels, IP & analog cameras (thermal camera experience a plus), low voltage wiring, and low voltage power supplies, relays, and controls type equipment is desired· Basic knowledge/understanding of plumbing, valves, and system pressurization a plus· Needs to possess excellent troubleshooting skills· Must have strong customer service skills· Excellent communication skills· Ability to manage individual service calls and service routes within a service team environment· Ability to work in tight spaces· Must be comfortable with heights, and experienced in working from a boom lift· Proficiency in English – Spanish would be a helpful plus· A desire to learn and grow within our organization· Current and unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record.
