What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Processor position at First Bank and Trust Company?
First Bank and Trust is seeking an Agricultural Loan Processor in Hanover, VA to join our team. The loan processors support the agricultural loan officers by serving as the liaison to ensure all agricultural loans are processed correctly according to the bank’s policies and procedures. This position requires a variety of banking experience and abilities to implement, manage, and monitor all necessary procedures and other tasks assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Correspond with lenders, title companies, customers, co-workers, etc. in a courteous and professional manner
- Serve as a point of direct customer contact to facilitate relationship, service loans and gather information for loan requests
- Order credit reports, appraisals, title work, etc.
- Provide administrative support to loan officers and other senior staff as needed
- Prepare loan documents for closings, all post-closing activities
- Enter and verify wire transfers for loan closings and other transactions
- Create electronic loan files through compilation of electronic documents and scanning
- Monitor maturing loans and past due loans as part of support provided to assigned lender/relationships
- Process paid-out loans in the appropriate manner to ensure lien releases are timely
- Track exceptions, work to clear and minimize exceptions on all loan assigned loan files
- Update and track insurance for loan files
- Attend Bank functions in a representative capacity
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent - required.
- Associate's degree - Accounting, Business, Finance, and/or related field - preferred.
- Three or more years of relevant (loan, real estate, banking) work experience - preferred.
