Maintenance Manager

FirstFruits Farms is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager to add to our team. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the continued development of the Maintenance Department and production facility. This position works collaboratively with the Production Manager to minimize downtime, evaluate packing line equipment, and to prioritize production needs to best achieve daily production goals with a “Safety First” approach. This position requires a person who is self-motivated, takes the initiative to analyze, and address problems quickly with the maintenance team for continued operation. You will play a vital role in ensuring that production goals are met, which will require at times working into the evening or on weekends on an ‘on-call’ and as-needed basis. This position reports to the Production Manager. Salary Range $75,000 - $115,000 DOE.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all phases of packing line equipment.
  • Responsible for the supervision, training, performance, and oversight of Line Maintenance Technicians, Palletizing Operators, Building Maintenance and Stockroom Clerk.
  • Establishing crew work schedules and hours in coordination with Production Manager to ensure continuous operation of the production facility.
  • Hold accountability to the Maintenance Department’s role and purpose in accordance with the appropriate policies and procedures of the company.
  • Coach, train, and assist staff supervised to show continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a preventive/predictive maintenance program
  • Play an active and contributory role in the company’s Food Safety program.
  • Financially accountable for the department’s operating budget.
  • Assisting in projecting maintenance costs/expenses.
  • Work with the Production Manager in the planning and development of the maintenance department.
  • Maintain and update Asset Essentials (CMMS) as needed.
  • Responsible for storeroom that supplies maintenance and production departments.

Skills, Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in relevant field and/or 5 years of relevant experience leading a maintenance department.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to set goals & priorities to manage multiple projects effectively and successfully from concept to completion.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to execute solutions with little to no assistance.
  • Must have a great personality and attitude and be willing to step outside of your job title.
