Insurance Customer Service Representative

Full time or Part time is available.

8:30AM to 5:00PM Hours of Operation

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate claim denials and refile for payment.
  • Submit claim appeals.
  • Utilize multiple websites and hospital EMRs to find valid insurance information.
  • Verify insurance information and apply it to patient reports.
  • Take inbound phone calls, take payments, assist patients with their questions.
  • Make outbound calls to patients and insurance payers.
  • Educate patients and health insurance representatives on payment responsibilities in instances where providers are not contracted.
  • Document work performed and any patient interactions in billing software.
  • Post payments in billing software.
  • Adhere to company policies, FDCPA, HIPAA and any other state and federal laws that govern the industry.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by FirstStates’ management.

  • Participate in on-going educational activities.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Must have relevant prior experience.
  • High school graduation/GED.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to think critically
  • Customer service

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
