Description : Basic Description :
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will collaborate & assist the HR team with all daily administrative duties. Professionalism, organization, and attention to detail are of the upmost importance when performing all aspects of this position. This person will be trained on the basics of HR Specialist tasks in order to fill in when needed. As Flat Branch continues to grow, this position will continue to form and adapt over time. The HR Assistant position is a full time, entry-level position, with the possibility of working a hybrid schedule; located in the Jefferson City, MO. In office attendance is required 2-3 times a week after the training period.
Responsibilities : (including, yet not limited to)
Onboarding :
Onboard all non-management staff & assist with all other onboarding processes
Perform HR Orientations with all non-management staff
Verify & collect I-9 forms and documents to ensure compliance
Run applicable background checks for all new staff
Send reports to supervisors when advised
Post new hires on Treehouse
HRIS - Time Tracking System :
Add new employees to payroll system
Reset ESS login passwords
Update position titles, email addresses, and labor allocation as needed
Perform time tracking audits at the end of each pay period and periodically throughout the year to ensure compliance
Notify the HR Generalist when a new hire lives in a state that is not already entered into the system
Track and maintain all employee monthly accruals
Health and 401k Benefits :
Send routine health insurance eligibility and reminders, as well as 401K enrollment emails to newly eligible staff members
Assist with answering basic knowledge questions regarding employee health insurance and 401K benefits
Develop basic knowledge of employee benefits for the current year and all changes that may occur throughout an employee’s career.
Office and Daily Tasks :
Complete basic verifications of employment
Order flowers / gifts for employees
Post job openings and manage resumes
Schedule training locations
Assist team with daily / weekly / monthly emailing
Other :
Any additional tasks as needed
Requirements :
Qualifications & Skills :
Attention to detail and organizational skills, required
Experience in an office setting using Microsoft products, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word processing, required
Express a positive attitude, daily
Must be able to multitask and prioritize on case-by-case basis throughout the workday.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff professionally, written and verbal
Possess a people-pleasing drive
Problem solving outlook / skills, preferred
Self-starter, ability to work independently with little supervision as well as collaborate with the team
Must be able to sit at a desk and work in front of a computer for 6 hours / day
Occasion travel, although minimal, may be required throughout the year as needed
