We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Field Safety Manager to join our USA team. This leadership role is critical to ensuring safety compliance and fostering a strong safety culture across all field operations.
Position Overview:
The Field Safety Manager will oversee and coordinate safety activities across multiple projects, working closely with project teams to implement and maintain best practices. This role requires in-depth knowledge of MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of leadership in safety management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of comprehensive safety programs and policies.
- Oversee compliance with MSHA regulations and other applicable standards for surface and underground projects.
- Conduct regular site visits, audits, and inspections to identify and address safety risks.
- Act as a mentor and advisor to Project Safety Supervisors, ensuring consistent safety practices across all sites.
- Facilitate safety training programs, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training sessions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
- Compile and maintain detailed safety records, including reports for audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with project managers and foremen to integrate safety into daily operations and project planning.
- Develop and monitor key safety performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve safety outcomes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Stay current on changes to safety regulations and industry standards, updating policies and procedures as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in safety management within the drilling, mining, or construction industries, with at least [X years] in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of MSHA regulations, as well as other relevant safety standards and best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide diverse teams toward a safety-first culture.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience delivering training and presentations.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MSHA Trainer, CSP, OSHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Ability to travel frequently to project sites and work in varying field conditions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
