JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Project Engineer to join our dynamic team, offering the chance to collaborate with local agencies and DOTs on diverse, complex projects. This position can be based in Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, or Denver, CO. In this role, you'll design, analyze, and implement traffic management solutions to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems. Key responsibilities include traffic signal design, roadway safety analysis, traffic impact studies, and transportation planning. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transportation projects that cater to the evolving needs of our growing community. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transportation Planning:
- Conduct various studies including intersection, corridor, sight distance, traffic impact, and road safety audits. Tasks include crash analysis, field data collection, traffic modeling with Synchro/SIDRA, intersection control evaluations, countermeasure identification, benefit-cost analysis, etc.
- Develop plans and drawings related to alternative intersection designs, roundabout design, signal design, utility coordination, signage, pavement markings, and traffic safety.
- Organize and conduct engineering investigations and planning work within defined scopes.
- Research the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
- Prepare preliminary man-hour, cost, and material quantity estimates.
- Participate in quality control checks, ensuring high quality standards in all produced work, reviewing computations, designs, and drawings created by others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; M.S. or graduate-level coursework preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning; experience with both public and private sector clients preferred.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License
Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
