What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food & Beverage Operations Manager position at Fort Wayne TinCaps?
Position Overview:
This position is a jack of all trade’s role; our operations manager will get a well-rounded experience and provide assistance for all sub-departments within Food & Beverage at Parkview Field. The role assists in managing the food and beverage department, helping ensure successful event service while focusing on operational efficiency, training, and staff coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Bar Operations
- Staffing, scheduling and interviews.
- Liquor License compliance.
- Will help with VIP & Concessions licenses
- Homestand Special Selections
- Head of cleaning operation
- Manage & staff the adequate people to clean F&B Locations.
- Primarily during off weeks from games.
- Cleaning fryers, grills, cooler, keg boxes, etc.
- Responsible for cleaning if no available staff.
- Group Food Production
- Staffing and scheduling for Event Center Kitchen and HUPP.
- NPO Lead
- Handles signing up NPO groups for Fundraising.
- Liquor License compliance for those in Concessions.
- Handle training new groups for their first shift.
- Work with Concessions & VIP Manager to develop a schedule to fit the organization’s needs.
- Handles signing up NPO groups for Fundraising.
- Cover sub-departments when their Full-time manager is out.
- Ex. Commissary Manager is out – Cover commissary for weekend
- School Visits
- Work with Community engagement manager to develop a schedule for school visits.
- Work with Community engagement manager to develop a schedule for school visits.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Willingness to jump in to all places needed in the Food & Beverage operation
- Great communication skills – team leader
- Great organization skills, and has an eye for details
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced operations
- Ability to multi-task as this operation has many different types of service provided to our guests. See the big picture.
- Proficiency in working with a team – propose improvements to the operation as noted during actual operation
- Ability to work independently – self-starter is a must
- Ability to meet deadlines – be accountable and hold hourly staff to accountable standards
- Willingness to work long hours
- General knowledge of food safety and customer service. Serve Safe certified is a plus.
- Indiana Liquor License a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Comfortable working long hours during events.
- Ability to work at a sitting computer for extended periods.
- Ability to work in adverse climates including but not limited to work in non-airconditioned or heated buildings on a limited basis indoors/outdoors for events.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
